Description:
Qualitative chemiluminescent immuno-assay for Hepatitis A IgM antibodies. This test is available Mon to Fri.
Clinical details:
Acute hepatitis in adults, usually with a significant transaminitis (>5 x Upper Unit normal (ULN), not always symptomatic in children. Confirmed cases must be urgently notified to the relevant health protection team.

Storage and transport:
Place labelled sample in a sealed sample bag and send to Central Specimen Reception (CSR). To prevent sample haemolysis please store samples in refrigerator if a delay in sending samples to CSR is unavoidable.
