Endomysial Antibodies (IgA)

Description:
IgG anti-endomysial (EMA) antibody is tested for when a coeliac antibody request is from an IgA deficient individual. IgA EMA is at present routinely tested for when IgA TTG is positive. The test has high sensitivity and specificity for coeliac disease. We offer EMA by indirect immunofluorescence on primate oesophagus.
