Consultant Clinical Scientist / Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London

Michael came to St. Thomas’ Hospital, from King’s College Hospital, in November 1994 to set up a molecular genetic service for the Haemophilia Centre. 

Initially analysis of the F8 (Haemophilia A) and F9 (Haemophilia B) genes was established but the service has now expanded to offer the largest repertoire of genes involved in disorders of haemostasis and thrombosis in the UK. Michael joined Viapath at its inception in 2009.

Michael has been involved in the establishment of the Molecular Haemostasis & Thrombosis as an international reference centre, especially for rare hereditary bleeding disorders, with referrals from more than 20 different countries.

He has been a Member of the Association for Clinical Genetic Science (ACGS) (formally CMGS), since 1994, a Member of the British Society for Genetic Medicine (BSGM) (formally BSHG) , since its conception in 1996 and a Member of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, since 2012.
