Genotypic resistance by standard sequencing - for HIV-1 RT and protease only
Clinical details: 
HIV-1 RNA ideally should be detectable on the blood sample for this assay to work.
With low RNA load there is a diminishing chance of the assay working
Sample type and Volume required: 
6 - 8 ml EDTA plasma
Call in advance: 
for urgent tests only
Turnaround time: 
3 weeks
Time limit for extra tests: 
No limit (but RNA degrades after years of storage)
