Hepatitis C virus antibody/antigen

Description: 
The assay is performed on two platforms:
1) For routine testing, Bio-Rad Monolisa HCV Ag/Ab ULTRA EIA is an enzyme immunoassay for the detection of HCV infections, based on the detection of HCV capsid antigen and HCV-specific antibodies in serum or plasma.

2) For urgent testing the Abbott Architect platform is used. This detects HCV antibody only.
Clinical details: 
All positive or indeterminate results are clarified by HCV RNA quantitative assay for HCV viraemia.
