Description: 
During the acute phase of HAV infection, HAV-specific IgM appears in the patient’s serum and is usually detectable at the onset of symptoms. In most cases HAV-IgM usually peaks within the first month of illness, but may persist for a further 3 – 6 months until becoming undetectable.
