Haemoglobin F % Analysis

Description: 
HPLC analysis is used to quantitate the HbF %. Can be used for monitoring patients on Hydroxyurea therapy
Sample type and Volume required: 
External users please refer to Sickle and Thalassaemia screen.
Minimum 1 ml EDTA blood. It is recommended a FBC is performed and results sent with sample for interpretive purposes
Turnaround time: 
Samples received before 10.30 AM will be reported the same day. After 10.30 AM results will reported the following day.
Storage and transport: 
Samples can be sent first class post. Samples can tested up to 10 days after collection.
