Description: 
Faecal occult blood testing utilising the hema-screenTM Specific immunoassay detects the presence of haemoglobin in faecal specimens using a combination of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies to selectively identify the globin component of human haemoglobin.

Blood in faeces, ulcers, colorectal cancer
Sample type and Volume required: 
Faeces sample no more than 48 hours old in a sterile universal container.
Turnaround time: 
1 Working Day.
Special sample instructions: 

Please provide: Fresh faecal sample no more than 48 hours old as this may affect the accuracy of result. Samples can be taken on consecutive days to account for variable shedding however each individual sample should be sent to the department as soon as possible after collection.
