Description: 
Sample sent to Leeds Mycology Reference Centre referral laboratory for Avian precipitins / Avian antiobody testing. Detection of antibodies to pigeon serum or budgerigar antigens for diagnosis of Bird Fancier’s lung. This test is available Mon to Fri.

Used in the investigation of respiratory symptoms in bird keepers.

Storage and transport: 
Place labelled sample in a sealed sample bag and send to Central Specimen Reception (CSR). To prevent sample haemolysis please store samples in refrigerator if a delay in sending samples to CSR is unavoidable.
