Allergen Specific IgE (Phadia Immunocap)

Description: 
Atopic disease is common in the UK and has a variety of clinical presentations. The following is a list of the more frequently encountered conditions: food allergy, atopic eczema, asthma, seasonal rhinitis and conjunctivitis, perennial rhinitis and conjunctivitis, bee and wasp venom anaphylaxis and latex allergy.


The identification of the allergen or allergens responsible for the disease manifestation is an essential part of diagnosis and management of allergic disease.

Specific IgE Investigations are available for individual as well as a mix of related allergens. Specific IgE antibodies to allergen components are available by prior arrangement.
The available allergen specific IgE panel is large and listed on electronic laboratory ordering. Please contact laboratory as described below to discuss your particular requirement if necessary.

Turnaround time: 
Requests for in-stock allergens will be turned around within 4 working days from the time of receipt of the sample. Requests for tests against allergens not in stock will be turned around within 15 working days of receipt of sample.
Special sample instructions: 

All tests are compromised by prolonged transit times. For this reason, date of bleed and date of postage must be provided with each request.

Storage and transport: 
Serum stored at 4ºC should be sent by 1st class post as soon as possible
