Mary Fitzgerald

Mary joined Viapath in June 2011 and has held a variety of senior HR roles before joining Viapth’s Executive Leadership team as Human Resources Director in October 2015. Mary is responsible for recruitment, payroll, learning and development, HR advice and internal communications. 

Mary is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has an MA in Human Resources Management.  She brings a mix of public and private sector expertise to Viapath – the early part of her career being spent in a variety of different NHS sectors, before being International HR Director for Thomson NETg, an e-learning business, where she was responsible for HR delivery in 13 countries across Europe and the Asia Pacific region. 

More recently she ran her own business for nine years, specialising in change management and staff transfers through acquisitions and TUPE transfers, working in many different industries including health, education and recruitment. 

Mary's main focus is to develop and progress the Viapath employer brand, to ensure that we are able to attract, recruit and retain the very best scientific and support professionals crucial to realising our ambition to transform pathology.
